The Taco the Toon

Come and join us for cocktails, beers & tacos as we transform into Toffee Taphouse, serving up summery post-work drinks to kick-start your weekend in Ouseburn Valley.

As well as concocting seasonal drinks especially for the occasion, we’ve teamed up with hugely talented chef Shaun Hurrell, who’ll be dishing up Mexican street food with Barrio Comida. American-born Hurrell, whose other side-line Trial Shift, a collaboration with fellow chef Tom Anglesea, sold out a banquet feast here in June, has worked with some of catering’s biggest names including Marcus Wareing and Fergus Henderson, not to mention local restaurateur Terry Leybourne.

Tunes and visuals come courtesy of DJ Lady Annabella, who’ll be dropping kitsch Mexicana beats & lounge exotica 6-8pm.

Ouseburn Valley is home to some of the best boozers in Newcastle so it makes perfect sense to shake away the strains & stresses of the week and get your Friday night off to a tasty start, in a cracking location – with some of Newcastle’s finest watering holes right on the doorstep.

This little shindig also marks Shaun and Tom’s last popup together *sniff* so let’s make this a good one!
