TEDx Talks at Toffee Factory
March 26, 2014
Toffee Factory is pleased to announce it is hosting a day of TEDx talks on Saturday April 5th. The event will feature numerous inspiring speakers, ranging from a street artist to an Olympic athlete, who, through various presentations, will explore the theme of ‘Legacy’ and take you on a journey of what it means to them. They will explore what it takes to infuse a city or a community with a desire for change and resurrection and will explore what creating a legacy means to them. The talks promise a wide range of information from the legacy of science centres to building leadership and systems for change.
Organiser Ashmita Randhawa of TEDxJesmondDene says: “I’ve always loved the area that is Ouseburn. Its regeneration has been fantastic for the city and I think Toffee Factory is the perfect example of what we’re trying to showcase for the event. From its early days as a cattle sanatorium, to a sweet factory, to the fantastic space that it is today it’s a perfect example of how to create a legacy from almost nothing.”
The event runs from 10am – 3pm on Saturday 5th April. Tickets cost £10 and are available here.
Special thanks go to Papa Ganoush who will kindly be providing a lunch of the finest middle-eastern street food for attendees.
